A new version of the Form I-9, Employment Eligibility Verification, was released on November 14, 2016. By January 22, 2017, employers must use the revised form. Dave Basham, a Form I-9 and E-Verify subject matter expert with U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services, will conduct an hour long in-depth session on the revised I-9.
Dr. Denise Montoya serves as the Director of Human Resources for New Mexico Highlands University (NMHU). She is the President of P.S. People Strategy providing strategic planning, design and implementation of learning cultures, and human resources consulting services to a wide range of organizations.
Arkansas voters will see two ballot initiatives supporting the legalization of marijuana for medical use this November. If either initiative passes, employers should be prepared to address the complex workplace issues that will inevitably arise as employers seek to juggle newly created protections for marijuana users with maintaining a safe and productive workplace.
