Why HR?

Group of ARSHRM members

Human Resources (HR) is a crucial part of any workplace, as it serves as a bridge between the employees and the organization. HR is responsible for recruiting, hiring, onboarding, and training employees, as well as payroll, managing employee benefits, performance evaluations, and workplace policies. HR also helps to create a positive work environment by promoting diversity and inclusion, resolving conflicts, and ensuring compliance with labor laws and regulations. Without HR, workplaces may struggle to attract and retain talent, maintain a productive workforce, and ensure a fair and equitable workplace for all employees.

HR plays a critical role in managing the human capital of an organization, which is often the most valuable asset of any business. This includes everything from recruitment and retention to employee development and engagement. HR also helps to ensure that employees are property trained, equipped with the necessary skills and provided with the resources they need to perform their jobs effectively. Additionally, HR serves as a liaison between the employees and the organization, helping to resolve conflicts, address concerns and provide support to employees. HR is the first point of contact for applicants and employees. Finally, HR helps to ensure that the organization is compliant with laws and regulations related to employment, which can help to avoid costly legal issues and reputational damage. Overall, HR is essential to the success of any organization and plays a vital role in ensuring that employees are able to work in a productive, positive, and fair workplace environment. HR managers are strategic partners in an organization – from developing productive employees to maintaining staff. HR builds strong workforces and serves an ambassador to the workforce and community.
