2016 Lin J. Little

Lin has continually shown outstanding service and has promoted the Human Resources Management profession throughout her career. She has a Lifetime Certification as a Senior Professional in Human Resources from HRCI and has served on the HRCI exam development committee for certification exams for over a decade, reviewing test questions and ensuring HRCI tested for the body of knowledge.

She has served the profession as a volunteer leader during her entire career. She has chaired and served on most committees in the Central AR Human Resources Association and served 2 terms as President and an additional term as Board Chair. Lin has also served 4 terms as ARSHRM’s State Council Director and chaired the ARSHRM State Conference. Additionally, she has served on the SHRM National Human Resources Development committee for over 3 years and was a member of SHRM’s Corporate Social Responsibility Panel and served on the SHRM Area IV Board for 8 years.

Her community has also benefited from her service. Specifically, she served as a Board member of the American Heart Association and Board Chair of the American Heart Association in 2001. She was Logistics Chair for the American Heart Association Ball for 3 years, Commissioner of the City Beautiful Commission for 5 years, Vice Chair in 1997 and Chair of City Beautiful Commission in 1994. And the list goes on and on...

She is a frequent speaker at SHRM Chapters and SHRM Conferences. Most of us have attended several of her presentations on topics such as Conducting Effective Meetings, Leadership, Communication, Personality Profiles, Volunteer Engagement, and Emotional Intelligence. She has never hesitated to help a Chapter, the State Council, or a volunteer leader. She has impacted all human resource professionals in the State of Arkansas. She is never one to accept the accolades she is due and always gives credit to others.

Lin earned a Bachelor of Arts in English from Southern Arkansas University and a Master of Arts in Interpersonal and Organizational Communication from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock. She is an adjunct faculty member at Webster University teaching human resource, human resource development and health systems, a role she has had since 1991. She is a graduate of the College of Executive coaching and is certified as an MBTI Practitioner.

She currently serves as Vice President at Arkansas Blue Cross and Blue Shield, where she has worked since 1985. Here she leads employee focus groups that provides feedback to senior leadership and drives organizational improvement. She has designed and developed compensation programs. She researches and develops HR strategies and has led the wellness campaign, serving as the team project leader for their performance evaluation system and has the responsibility for the first assessment center at ARBCBS.
