Are You Ready for the Revised Form I-9?

A new version of the Form I-9, Employment Eligibility Verification, was released on November 14, 2016. By January 22, 2017, employers must use the revised form. Dave Basham, a Form I-9 and E-Verify subject matter expert with U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services, will conduct an hour long in-depth session on the revised I-9.

Pot Talk: Questions Surrounding Marijuana Legalization and Employment

Arkansas voters will see two ballot initiatives supporting the legalization of marijuana for medical use this November. If either initiative passes, employers should be prepared to address the complex workplace issues that will inevitably arise as employers seek to juggle newly created protections for marijuana users with maintaining a safe and productive workplace.

Testing windows will soon be "out the window" thanks to year-round testing to be offered by HR Certification Institute® (HRCI®). In an HR industry first, starting November 1, 2016, exams for each of HRCI's seven certifications will be available any day of the year.

Coming Soon – New E-Verify User Requirement

On Aug. 1, E-Verify will begin deactivating user IDs that have not been accessed for 270 days.

Honoring Dan Woods

Last Friday, the Arkansas Department of Workforce Service’s Unemployment Insurance Advisory Council held its quarterly meeting, where long time Arkansas SHRM member was honored with a commendation from the Governor, Capital award from Secretary of State and commendation from Lt. Governor, and March 11 was declared Daniel Woods day.
