In March of 2011, the U.S. Chamber of Commerce launched Hiring Our Heroes, a nationwide initiative to help veterans and military spouses find meaningful employment. Working with a network of 1600 state and local chambers and other strategic partners from the public, private, and non-profit sectors, their goal was to create a movement across America in hundreds of local communities where veterans and military families return every day.

We invite you to join us Thursday, September 13, 2012 from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM, for a job fair for veteran job seekers, active duty military members, Guard and Reserve members, and military spouses, at Verizon Arena in North Little Rock, AR. This event will be a one-of-a-kind FREE hiring fair for both employers and job seekers.

ARSHRM, as part of our Workforce Readiness initiative, will be partnering with the Arkansas Chamber of Commerce at this event to provide the following services:

  • Resume Review Booth – Recruiters and staffing specialists will be available to assist veterans in reviewing their resumes, and offering suggestions to strengthen the resume and make it stand out. These HR professionals would also be available to answer questions about the interview process and current employment trends. (10:00-11:30AM, 1:30-3:00PM)
  • Job Panel Discussion – “Standing Tall – How to make your Veteran Status Work for You”. Our HR professionals will host a panel that focuses on what information Veterans should include on their resumes, how to transform military training/skills into the civilian workplace, and what employers look for in potential applicants. There will also be a Q & A session at the end for veterans to get answers to their own personal questions. (11:00-11:30AM)
