The Arkansas SHRM State Council is proud to present these awards each year to to recognize professionals and organizations who endeavor to improve the HR profession in our state.

The purpose of the award is to recognize an individual that has shown outstanding service and has promoted the profession of Human Resources Management.

Ed Wheeler, PHR was presented with the 2009 Professional of the Year Award at the 2009 Arkansas State Human Resources Conference and Expo.

The purpose of the award is to recognize an individual that has continually shown outstanding service and has promoted the profession of Human Resources Management throughout their career.

Russell Gunter, SPHR (right) was named the most recent Arkansas HR Professional of the Year at the 2009 state conference.

The purpose of the award is to recognize members for "outstanding contributions of time and effort in local, state or federal legislative advocacy on behalf of the Human Resources profession."

Eric Garvin and David Purifoy was honored with the most recent Arkansas HR Legislative Advocacy Award at the 2007 state conference.

Best HR Practice Award

The purpose of the award is to recognize an organization that aligns successful HR programs and practices with the company’s business objectives.

Friend of the Human Resources Profession AwardAwardWinners_blancheL.jpg

The purpose of the award is to recognize and express appreciation to legislative or business leadership who have proven a continued willingness and effort to listen to HR professionals' concerns relating to local, state or federal legislative matters affecting the profession, educate themselves on these issues, and actively consider the impact of legislative measures on the profession.

Senator Blanche Lambert Lincoln is the recipient of the 2009 Friend of the Human Resources Profession Award.
