Training and developing current and future "HR Volunteer Leaders" is another critical mission the Arkansas HR State Council. They recognize that volunteer leaders are truly the "cornerstone" of the local chapters and the State Council, and that basic leadership development is paramount to the success and continuity of the local chapter. It’s really all about "Serving the Professional and Advancing the Profession". One important goal of the State Council is to provide an annual leadership development seminar, dedicated to assisting chapter and council leaders with understanding their volunteer roles and making them the BEST leaders that they can be. This conference "mirrors" what’s done by SHRM at the National Level to develop and prepare volunteer leaders for their new leadership roles.
The ARSHRM State Council held its 2012-2013 Arkansas SHRM Leadership Conference on September 27th – 28th, 2012 at the Ozark Folk Center located in Mountain View, Arkansas. The Leadership Conference is intended to educate, motivate and inform chapter leaders and state council members of their leadership role and state council activities and goals. We hope that each chapter leader and state council leader will make every effort to attend if the future and learn so they can become better leaders for the HR profession. We hope to achieve near 100% chapter leader participation at these conferences.
