Training and developing current and future "HR Volunteer Leaders" is another critical mission the Arkansas HR State Council. They recognize that volunteer leaders are truly the "cornerstone" of the local chapters and the State Council, and that basic leadership development is paramount to the success and continuity of the local chapter. It’s really all about "Serving the Professional and Advancing the Profession". One important goal of the State Council is to provide an annual leadership development seminar, dedicated to assisting chapter and council leaders with understanding their volunteer roles and making them the BEST leaders that they can be. This conference "mirrors" what’s done by SHRM at the National Level to develop and prepare volunteer leaders for their new leadership roles.
The ARSHRM State Council will be holding its 2013-2014 Arkansas SHRM Leadership Conference on October 24th and 25th, 2013 at the Lake Point Conference Center located in Russellville. (State Council meeting October 24 from 10:00 AM to Noon) The Leadership Conference is intended to educate, motivate and inform chapter leaders and state council members of their leadership role and state council activities and goals. We hope that each chapter leader and state council leader will make every effort to attend and learn so they can become better leaders for the HR profession. We expect to have near 100% chapter leader participation.
Registration will be open Thursday morning at 9:00 a.m. and the official 2013 – 2014 Leadership Conference kicks off at Noon with a Networking Lunch. The conference will end with a lunch on Friday leaving time to enjoy Russellville and the surrounding areas or travel back to your home in the afternoon.
Thursday evening will be reserved for attendees to participate in as a member of the Mystery Dinner Party at 6:00 p.m. in the Dining Room at Lake Point. Libations will be provided and we encourage everyone to “dress their part for the dinner”. Attendees will be provided information regarding what they need to wear before attending the conference.
