The 2009 ARSHRM Employment Law & Legislative Affairs Conference

September 30th - October 1 · Peabody Hotel, Little Rock, AR

Dear Friends:

We are very pleased to present the Eighth Annual Employment Law and Legislative Affairs (ELLA) Conference hosted by the Arkansas SHRM State Council, Inc. ELLA’s objective is to educate and motivate HR professionals on legislative issues affecting employers and employees at both the federal and state levels.

Now, more than any other recent period in history, we are seeing an unprecedented number of new and changing legislation that affects the Human Resources profession and Arkansas employers. This makes your attendance at the 2009 ELLA Conference more important that ever!

This year’s conference is packed with concurrent sessions that will bring you up to date on the most recent legislative changes to ensure you stay in compliance with the law. We are also very excited at the opportunity to be hosting a panel of State Legislators again this year, who will answer your questions about the most recent changes to state legislation affecting Arkansas employers. As always, we have a fantastic line-up of guest speakers as well.

Also, you won’t want to miss this year’s mock trial! It is being presented by Russell Gunter, Denise Hoggard, Dan Herrington, Andrea Woods and Tim Orellano. As a member of the audience, you will act as a juror to deliver the verdict of “Guilty” or “Not Guilty” in this sexual harassment case. It promises to be loads of fun!

We also hope that everyone will plan to attend the ELLA reception on Wednesday, September 30th at 5:00 p.m., sponsored by our Diamond Level Sponsor, Cross, Gunter, Witherspoon and Galchus and hosted by ARSHRM and Government Solutions.

We want to thank all of our sponsors for their partnership and support of the 2009 ELLA Conference. We recognize your contributions to ELLA help make this conference a success each year.

After attending this conference, we are confident you will have a better understanding of the changing federal and state legislation and how you, as an HR professional, should respond to these changes. The knowledge you gain at this conference will help you in your daily work activities as an HR professional.

Don’t miss this “must attend” conference and the opportunity to advance your skills and knowledge in the HR profession.
